|
On October 22, 2009, the Goods Movement and Environmental Management Divisions of the Port of Los Angeles held a rail workshop. The workshop was open to the public and was held to discuss how rail operates at the Port of Los Angeles, the San Pedro Bay Ports, and the Southern California region. The workshop was opened by a presentation and followed by a question and answer period. Topics discussed included an overview of on-dock, near-dock and off-dock rail operations, the state of current and future rail infrastructure, Port modeling efforts, and an overview of alternative rail network proposals. At the meeting, a follow-up workshop was proposed to further the engaging discussions. Please check back here for announcements of future meetings.
